Top Pick for the Best Houseplant Subscription Boxes
House Plant Box
About This Box:
House Plant Box sends “a beautiful and unique plant selection direct from our greenhouses” each month. They state that the plant is selected based on a host of criteria including coloration, character, foliage, form, seasonality, and diversity.
I was very pleased when I opened my first House Plant Box and saw a crocodile fern. I love epiphytes, especially ferns, and the crocodile fern is definitely a unique plant.
It was a very full and healthy plant, too! A four-inch plant, but a big four-inch plant, you know what I mean?
In addition to a care guide, they also included background info on the plant’s natural environment, which I think is a really nice touch. This box is what a passionate plant person needs to easily grow their houseplant collection.
Past Boxes Include:
Various alocasias, calatheas, palms, ferns, and much more!
Price:
At the time I write this, House Plant Box starts at $25/month, with lower prices for longer than one-month subscriptions.

Tropical Houseplant Seed Subscription Box
About This Box:
The Tropical Houseplant Seed Subscription Box will send four different types of tropical and exotic houseplant seeds so that you can grow your own indoor jungle! How cool is that?
In my first box, I received olive tree seeds, coral aloe seeds, dragon tree palm seeds, and heavenly bamboo seeds.
Definitely a fun variety. You can plant them within two years so there’s no need to feel rushed, although I can tell you from experience you’ll definitely be too excited to wait!
Past Boxes Include:
Seeds for: eucalyptus baby blue, philodendron hope, cactus crown mix, chamaedorea parlor palm tree, monstera deliciosa, sarracenia purpurea, trident maple bonsai, and pink splash.
Price:
At the time I write this, the Tropical Houseplant Seed Subscription Box is £12.95/month (since I’m in the U.S., I paid around $15 at the time of my purchase). Prices decrease with longer than one-month subscriptions.
$15 for four different kinds of seeds is a great option for those who don’t want to pay for full-grown plants.

Air Plants Monthly Club Box
About This Box:
Air plants are kind of in their own little space within the houseplant world.
There are hundreds of species of air plants, yet (in general) only a handful are really paid much attention to unless you’re an air plant aficionado.
With this box, you’ll receive a minimum of four air plants each month, giving you the opportunity to explore new air plants you might have never even heard of. You might even receive a plant (or a few) in bloom!
Plus, air plants are actually ridiculously low maintenance. What more could you want?
Past Boxes Include:
This is a relatively new subscription box, but a recent box was an “easy-care air plant” box that included Xerographica, Stricta Green, Aeranthos Hybrid, Velutina, and a free bonus plant.
Price:
At the time I write this, Air Plants Monthly Club Box plans start at $17.99/month. Not bad for a MINIMUM of four plants each month!

My Garden Box
About This Box:
I wanted to include this box because I know some of my readers like outdoor gardening, too.
My Garden Box sends a variety of both indoor and outdoor plants, as well as the potting mix you need for that month’s plant and a unique and creative plant display project with instructions.
My Garden Box is great for those who not only want to receive a new plant each month, but also want a fun project to do on their own or with their family.
Past Boxes Include:
Hens and Chicks succulents with a terra cotta dish and decorative pebbles; Duranta ‘Cuban Gold’ plant with tools and materials needed to build your own Bonsai display; and Alocasia Polly and Calathea Freddie with decorative planters, saucers, and pebbles.
Price:
At the time I write this, My Garden Box plans start at $35.50/month. This box has everything you need to care for your new indoor or outdoor plant.
Plus, you’re not just getting a new plant—you’re getting the experience of creating a unique and fun plant project.

The Sill’s Pet Friendly Plant Subscription
About This Box:
I’m a huge fan of The Sill and have ordered many houseplants from them in the past.
This box made the list because, although it’s a bit more expensive, these plants are all pet friendly! I know a lot of my fellow plant parents also have furry friends at home.
As a cat mom myself (with one curious cat who LOVES to munch on plants), pet-safe plants are extremely important to me.
In this box, you’ll receive a non-toxic plant in a 6-inch diameter grow pot and one of The Sill’s 7-inch wide ceramic planters every month.
Plants You Might Receive:
I could not find a list of what was in their past boxes, but some pet-friendly plants The Sill carries include: Parlor Palm, Peperomia Obtusifolia, Bird’s Nest Fern, and Calathea Dottie.
Price:
At the time I write this, The Sill’s Pet-Friendly subscription box is $65/month. I know, a tad pricy, but the peace of mind knowing our fur babies are safe when we’re not watching them is worth it.
I have ordered from The Sill several times and am always impressed with the quality of their plants, especially after having been shipped. Plus, shipping is free!
